When new Coil Spacers go bad!

Anybody have a problem installing rear coil spring spacers? I bought them from a source I found on this forum. They will remain nameless until I talk to them.
The problem is, the spacers do not fit the spring seat on the frame. Me being the fool I am, I said "lets put it together, they'll find their home". KA-BLAM!! As I was taking tension off the compressor the spacer broke. Now either my spring seats are out'a whack or the center of the spacers were not ground out enough.
Any thoughts?
I will have pics later today. However I don't think I can post them. I can email them to someone to post for me.

It has 1.5" All-Pro Springs.

Ive seen nothin but problems with spacers to be quite honest.. I ran a 1.75 inch spacer in my XJ, first wash board that I hit threw the spacer out and the coil spring cocked sideways.. i know they're a cheap way to lift a rig but i guess its for a reason..

the spacers I made for my lift have worked great, they are not just a donut. There is a space in the middle (towards frame) that the truck seat fits securly into, and there is a section that fits down inside the spring to keep from falling out. The whole setup has been fine on full articulation as well. How were the spacers you had constructed? Also, did you have the stock center cone bumpstop? If so, I hope you took it out or modified it.

(Edit: mine are about 3" spacers too)

Yes it still has the original Bumpstops. I don't see any reason why they would be a problem other than being to short w/ the spacers.
It also already has All-Pro 1.5" Springs. I'm actually debating weather or not to use the spacers.
The plan was to put them in and see what it looked like and have the option to leave them in, take them out, or cut them down to the correct size.
W/ 33x12.50 BFG M/T's and the sway bar connected @ full stuff the tires barely miss the the quaters. I figured w/ the links disco'ed the tires would mash the quaters. Hence the spacers.
I'm all about lifting just enough.

I didn't have them made. They were purchased.

well, the factory cone bump stops will most likely not even be used when lifted, and will just interfere, if modified, they can act as another .25-.375 of lift. (you will need new bump stops on frame rails)

Don't cut springs... that is bad, I'm not going to explain why

I know... but you made them sound as if they were custom, so I wanted to know if they were "custom-wrong" or "custom-installed wrong"

Pics will go a long way in clearing things up. I'll have them Around 7ish. I was talking about cutting the spacers.
I am interested in a little more info on the sub 1" lift you can get w/ the bumpstops (BS for future ref).

if you just cut the cone off of the entire cone, and stick it back in, it will give you 1/4-3/8 extra lift just as a little donut spacer

ok... basically, you cut it, and just stick it back in between spacer and spring... it just serves as a "trimpacker"

So here is some pics. You'll notice the spacer does not sit flush w/ the frame.
Also the end result.

are you trying to shove the spacer on OVER the rubber cone in all those pics? or just the last.... is it broke in the last?

hmmm.... so it looks like really, you should get better spacers, or have them modified... if they are cracked damaged, they should be tossed/replaced, if you dont like either of those options, you should either (A) cut all but 3/4" of the cone off with a saw (hand saw) and then install -Frame-Spacer-rubber-spring- or better yet leave out rubber all together.

Either way you need to get frame mounted bumpstops with a lift

Thats the problem. I'm trying to figure out if I got a bad batch of spacers, they're the wrong ones, or my spring seats are messed up. The BS's have nothing to do w/ the problem.

The second pic is me holding the spacer in place by hand. The third pic is the spring and spacer installed. The spacer is supposed to sit flush w/ the frame. The spacer split when I put up pressure on the spring (jack under the lower jshock mount). Even after it broke it still doesn't sit flush w/ the frame.

Yes it is. I know I don't need it but again the rubber is not the issue. Either my seat is outta whack or the inside Dia. of the spacer is off. Which is my thought.
