marlin rear bumper on bobbed bed?

ok so i bought a marlin rear bumper and im trying to mount it up to my truck with a bobbed bed. i have an idea of how to mount it but i want more insight before i hack away at such an awesome looking bumper. i have about 10" of frame before the body mount for the bed. i was thinking of just straight cutting the mounting bracket and welding it to my frame. does anyone see a problem with this? looking at marlins truck it seems like this is kinda what he did. ive only seen pictures of it. but my truck is an 91 toyota pickup. not too sure how much i bobbed it just hacked away . if anyone has done something similar with a marlin bumper please chime in. i would also need to shorten the tube that wrap around the side of the bed. any help would be awesome. thanks. i attached two ghetto ass ms paint pics to give you an idea of what im talking about.

Request some pics of the the 1st gen 4runner bumper mounts from Marlin Crawler- It differs from the truck bumper mounting- There are separate plates for each side and the bumper bolts to the plates.

I would mod your bumper to mount in a similar fashion.

if you look at this one from the marlin site itself this one is obviously on a bobbed bed.

its a whole lot shorter than mine then. i ordered a shortbed bumper and the tubes that wrap around the side are longer than the one pictures there.

Mine looks exactly the same lenghtwise as the truck in that picture. Perhaps you got a longbed bumper?
