exhaust mani crack

i think my exhaust manifold is cracked but im not sure.

the engine makes a sqeaking noise you hear it more from under the truck up near the exhaust pipes by the engine

here's a sound clip, i only had a picture camera to use. it picked up the noise really good, it actually makes the "problem" sound worse than it really is.

yeah sounds like a exhaust leak take you hand but be careful cause its really hot and feel for air coming out of it check around the mani and the egr unit cause thats on that side where it gets louder BUT i could be wrong i dont drive a V6 i got the 22re but just take you hand and feel not close but just enough to feel the wind move

a better way is to take a rag cap off the exhaust port the hole in the back and run her so you can feel and hear it alot better

get a can of sea foam and run a little through if you don't see a leak then have some one plug up the tail pipe for a few secs while you inspect the manifold.

your manifold could be cracked, but i would make sure that all the bolts on the exhaust are all tight before you try and take the manifold off, that happened on my grandmas mazda truck, i went to replace the manifold and it turned out that all 3 of the bolts from the manifold to the exhaust had come loose or fallen out.

x2 on the plug the pipe and seafoam. i would think there would be some bolts loose before there would be a crack.... thats from my own personal experience, just like notanymore's. happened to my clamps..

will it became like that after i seafoamed about 3 times.
someone suggested that there may have been a crack all along but covered with carbon bbuildup and gunk, and that the seafoam just cleaned it off.
this sounds pretty logical to me. i will chek for looose bolts and then for cracks later today if i get a chance but school consumes so much time.
