4Runner V6 fuel return lines

My fuel tank has what appear to be two fuel return lines. One goes to the fuel pump bracket and the other into the tank. When I removed the tank I unhooked these and now with the tank replaced I don't recall which is which. Do these both carry fuel?

Thanks in advance

no they both do not carry fuel one does carry the return fuel for to fuel rails and the other is connected to the charcoal canister which feeds excess fuel vapors back and forth form the tank to the intake manifold. The canister is located under the hood on the pass side looks like a black cylinder cant miss it.
I think that the return line goes to the top of the fuel pump and the other line goes on the other one. Might be wrong though.
It doesn't matter what one is hooked up where they work either way I know from experience.

Thanks Nate. That means I may have it hooked up correctly. I have a serious fuel problem that I have been working on for about a year now. The more work I do the worse it gets. The fuel pressure is OK until I go to start the engine and then it starts fluctuating from 0-40lbs. Some times it will start but just barely idle. New fuel pump, fuel filter. All relays are OK. It may be a VAFM problem but it checks out OK as well. Can't find any vacuum leaks.

The original problem was that it would start and idle fine but I couldn't rev up the engine without it misfiring and losing power. The dealer had it for several months when it was an intermittent problem and they couldn't find what was wrong but suggested the fuel pump. It has now gotten worse.

Thanks again
