Flex-a-lite Electric fan for Toyota.

I used this for about a year and a half. My main use for it was to improve my AC efficiency when in stop and go traffic during the summer(and it worked). I finally grafted a 4runner electric fan onto the front of my AC condenser leaving me free to go back to a clutch fan for engine cooling. This one has an adjustable thermostat and connections for AC-ON and Manual-OFF (for water crossings).

$125

I had installed the elect fan primarily to keep my AC working good in stop and go traffic during the summer. It did a fine job but on the trails I got tired of the thing turning on and off when trying to hear my spotter. The fan also operates at the perfect frequency to piss off drive-thru employees as they cannot hear my order when the fan is on. My neighbor had a 4runner (93 I think) and I was looking at the pusher fan mounted in front of the ac condenser and decided I was going to find a way to make one fit so I could go back to the quieter clutch fan. A little cutting and welding of some custom fan brackets and the little 4runner pusher fan was on. Now I get my good hot weather electric fan AC performance and my quiet non electric fan on the trails. There you have the story behind removal of the Flex-a-lite fan.

edit.... on the gas mileage I have no idea as I only drive about 2 miles to work. I did notice a bit more response right off idle with the elect fan. It was a little easier to get the ol horse moving.

I think I answered most of my own questions however could you clarify for me the "AC-ON" connector? I mean that my truck never has the AC on. What would I need to modify to connect this up to have a power on with manual over-ride to turn it off for instances such as a water crossing?

Then considering I just got a raise today I think I would like to take this off your hands. Of course that is if it's still available. Thanks!
