Flywheel orientation

Flywheel orientation
Is it critical to put the flywheel back on in the exact location it was in prior to resurfacing? I am wondering because I did not mark the crankshaft before I took the flywheel off. 89 3.0 4x4.
Thanks

no it does not matter on our trucks, I always mark them and put them back because I'm picky that way, but it really does not matter.
If you did not mark it and are interested in puting it back where it was, look closely at the mounting surface where it contacts the crankshaft. Usely you can tell which way it was oriented.

i even number my bolts so they go back in the same veins.
but, i also take my methodical sweet time.
however, when deathcouger and i put in a new clutch/pilot+t.out bearings, we installed new parts, and it has been running purr-fectly.
i would prefer a slightly lighter flywheel, but im in no hurry. many other projects 1st.
