*clunk* from the front left when i hit a bump

Just started after my last wheelin trip. not sure if i did something out there or in a pot hole around town but when i hit any descent sized bump, there is a clunk coming from my front left; possibly wheel area.
I though it might be a loose light in the TJM, nope...
Thought it would be the battery loose, nope...
CV's "look good, no grease anywhere
going to check the ball joint tomorrow afternoon when i get off (jack it up and shake the tire top and bottom)
could it be that the shock is bad up there? not sure that they were changed before but i was planning on changing them soon, just not sure if that will fix the problem.

anyone else have any ideas or had it happen to them?

check that on the front strut component the bushing between the shock and the top plate (inside the coil) is still there.

will do that. i bet your right because it is only when it compresses. do these come out often? i hope it wont be a PITA to replace and hope it can wait until i get new shocks.

Seconded, my front right clunked when I had a broken endlink (in the front right).
