Question Engine Switched Now No Spark

I just replaced my 94 v6 w/ a rebuilt 92 v6 and switched over the bolt ons including distributer. I have everything hooked up and went to start and there is no spark . It turns over fine and has fuel, any suggestions? One other thing it does have an after market alarm, can this be the cause of no spark? I thought alarms kill the motor at the starter?

Something in the ignition system is not installed properly. The distributor is a prime suspect. Read other threads on how to set a misaligned distributor to TDC. Other potential causes include no distributor rotor, loose coil wire, coil not connected correctly, faulty cap, you name it.

is it possible that the knock sensor can cause no spark if hooked up incorrectly? the motor is a 92 and the plug on the 94 harness is different and I did not have the correct plug so I modified it.

I have been checking the coil, distributer for resistance and all seems correct and I cant find any connections that I missed this really sucks. I get no spark out of coil wire when cranked, any other suggestions would be great

A knock sensor will not cause a no start condition. Check all grounds. More than likely its something not hooked up or hooked up wrong since this happend after a motor swap. Recheck your work
