rear bumper removal

is the removing the rear middle section of chrome bumper off of a 00 4runner difficult/time consuming? Also what tools would I need for this? Just got a new one, the old one rusted through. Thanks

Should just be unbolt and bolt back up. BUT I would spray all the bolts with some penetrent lube (pb blaster, liquid wrench etc.) a week before you try ( do them a few times) to break them loose. Chances are the bolts are pretty rusty. Make sure you have a breaker bar or somthing to that effect.

Get a jackhammer or a gas-axe! or maybe a couple wrenches.
But seriously be careful since the frames on the American built Toyota trucks (Tacoma, Tundra) are weak (C-section) unlike the Japan built trucks (fully boxed frames).

Breaker Bar? Too labor intensive, how about one of these:

Joking, but seriously some of those bolts can be pretty tight.

Stupid and insulting replies don't help anyone. You're only making your self look rediculous (but if you cared you wouldnt be rediculous).

PB blast the bolts a few days ahead of when you plan to remove the part. The rest is straightforward. And expect it to take longer than you expect =)

Yeah, i sprayed it with PB yesterday, and actually noticed that a couple bolts are missing. kinda makes me wonder if the previous owner had an aftermarket.
