Hello all. I'm very new to the 4runner as i just bought it a couple weeks ago. I've noticed that when i let my foot off the throttle, i hear a whistling noise. at first i thought i was just hearing the wind whistling around the antenna, but its not that. does this sound like a vacuum leak or is it normal? i am getting a P0171 which is what makes me think its a vacuum leak, but when i'm just revving the engine with the hood up, i don't hear anything. thanks for your help.

 

Use a can of carb/intake cleaner where you think you might have a vacuum leak.
You'll hear the change in idle RPM if you find one.

sure you don't have a turbo with a blowoff valve?
