Soft clutch pedal blues

Hey all, i'm a novice at mechanics but learning fast and enjoying it too. The story is this: I had my 3 piece clutch replaced early this year, then had gearbox work done, so the truck lay idle for much of the springtime. Now with all this work done, I have a clutch pedal which is not firm, doesnt give me sufficient action in the bellhousing, often doesnt come back off the floor fully and is driving me to the madhouse. I bled it last night but no joy although i did get a lot of air out.
Anybody know the next step, or any links i might try???

Details about what rig help us with diagnosis. Does your clutch pedal have return spring? There is also a free play adjustment for the pedal. Also look at the master and slave cylindars, if one is sucking air in a leak your pedal will remain soft and you won't be able to get all the air out of the system If you have a repair manual check it out.

good luck and happy wrenching,

Nathan

Sorry Nathan it would help alright if I told you what I have. Its a Toyota Hilux Surf 1991 2nd generation with a 2.4 turbodiesel engine. I've found a recent thread https://www.yotatech.com/forums/show...threadid=11587 and it covers a lot of my problem and even a bit more. Will hopefully let you know what my solution was soon...

I fitted a new slave cyl but didnt get a decent result so I fitted a new master cylinder and whatdyaknow, nice firm clutch action and silky smooth gear selection. Thanks.
