yeah but with just a mild rebuild and headers are gonna get youu maybe a 30 horse boost. fullly built and race prepped (which that definately isnt) could put out 400 I bet but with forced induction and all the other goodies

Well look at the spec's, assuming they are true. High compression pistons with an 11.5 to 1 ratio - makes you almost wonder if you could burn diesel with the thing it's got such a high compression ratio. You'd probably need 94 octane PLUS octane boost. Then it's got high duration camshafts which probably make it idle so rough you probably gotta keep your idle up at 1500 RPM's. Then he says he bored it .100 over. That's a decent "chunk" of a bore. It looks like it has NWOR headers - (ball and socket design right?).
I'd love to see if this engine is indeed "true," and I'd also be interested in what other parts or things have been done to handle that high of a compression ratio.

I doubt a 3.0 could handle forced induction.

I am think'n if I was going to rebuild a motor to that extent I would at least clean every thing up if not repaint it all to make it look like I just did a ass load of work to it especially since its all torn down and its the cheapest part of the rebuild then I would want it on a engine stand for sure not a tire.
And with that much hp I would Patient that recipe and sell it as a kit to guy's like us since no one else is doing any kind of hp like that.

i think that guy with that engine needs to put the crackpipe down because i highly doubt that that is putting out anywhere close to 400hp. and am i the only person that thinks being bored .100 over is just way to much? but that is a nice find on the lce headers

You really don't think so. Maybe not with the stock HG problems, but most of the Toyota bottom ends are much more stout than they need to be for whatever application that Toyota intended for them. I'm sure you could run moderate boost pressure on a stock bottom end.

How many of the posters here so far have built and dyno'd 3.0 engines for high performance. I'll take a wild guess: none.
So basically all that has been posted criticizing the engine and seller is baseless conjecture. Good got that out of the way.
If I were to consider bidding on this engine I would ask the seller for his sources to the claim and contact/research them. He has not provided a dyno slip and really should give more substantiation to his claim. I would also inquire as to the smog-ability of this engine for those who live in states where it matters.

I don't think 400HP at the crank is out of the question, with as built as that motor is. The ones TRD built for Ivan Stewart back in the day were making mor than that. The one thing I learned about car engines in Thermodynamics is that compression cures all!
The 3.0 will definitely handle forced induction. That's what the "Z" in 3VZE means. (Agreed, it will have to be with good head gaskets)

oh and there was an ivan motor for sale a few months ago, i believe it was over 300hp, it had dry sump oiling, headers, and ITB's (independent throttle bodies).... 12:1 and redline of like 8000rpm... that would be a fun 3.fast... hehehe....oh and thanks for posting those links... htose NWOR headers are 20 min from me! i've never found any in canada before!....

$1,500 isn't a bad price if it runs. You can nit pick all day but not a bad price.
The headers and centerforce clutch make up alot of his price. $211 for the cheapest centerforce II and at least $300 for the headers means your paying $1,000 for the engine. To each his own. He did leave him self an out "So now I have a (sopposed to be) close to the 400HP range" Haha. It would be worth checking out if your close.

.100 over on the bore is dumb thats to close to water jackets then he goes on to say that these motors can take a .180 bore
