stalling out on decents

I have a 88 22r and have rebuilt the carb. The float level will not adjust right (stays to high) and the engine will stall out decending the smallest of hills and even just by braking. I can keep the truck running by pushing the accelerator pedal down just a hair.
Were should I look?
thanks

Stallin gout?

Gout: Condition characterized by abnormally elevated levels of uric acid in the blood, recurring attacks of joint inflammation (arthritis), deposits of hard lumps of uric acid in and around the joints, and decreased kidney function.

This may be more serious than YT can handle.

Hopefully someone will respond soon with a real answer to your question. At least my moronicy has bumped you back to the top.

filter changed after the rebuild? stock carb?

seems like adjusting the floats will solve the problem. it may take a few tweeks to get it to spec. (no exp w/ stock carbs)

or be lazy and turn the idle up a notch
