I don't think I have ever been so frustrated. Just finishing up the last little stuff before I can try starting after my rebuild. I had to remove the passenger motor mount to get my starter in place. Starter bolted up fine now I can't get that one last bolt on the motor mount in. Friggin starter is in the way. I've tried taking the weight off it with the hoist, prying it in different directions to get the hole to line up....nothing works. It went in fine before I dropped the engine in but now it's being a damn pain. Don't know what else to do. If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them. (short of taking the starter out again)

Dinner time now so I get a chance to cool down. I'll fight it again after. Just needed to vent. Anyone think there will be a problem if I just have 3 bolts on the passenger side instead of 4????

I WIN!!

Well it took quite awhile but it's in. Ended up hanging the engine with the hoist and removing the entire motor mount. Then I removed the starter. That b!tch still fought me but it's all back together. Worked on her for a few hours today and only got one bolt closer to completion.

One bit of good news though, I found out what I think might have been wrong with my 4x4. A wire drops down near the distributer and plugs into the axle. The clip for it was broken and looked like it hadn't been plugged in for awhile. We'll see though.

Time for a rum and coke to celebrate.

Hey Jason - you still need to order an exhaust hanger for where the cat goes - remember your old one, probably the original, was toasted when I pulled your exhaust down. Also, let me know when you get your crossover then I'll be right over with the exhaust, etc. and you can kill the tough vacuum hoses and other details? If that works I hope?

LCE sent the crossover on Wed I think it was. Will be here this week sometime I would think.

 

Jason - no the rubber hangers you can pick up at any exhaust shop (I think yours are all there though if I recall correctly - I made sure to leave them on the truck hangers). I'm talking about the metal hanger that connects to the 2downstream bolts on your cat/exhaust connection flange. I'll email you a photo right now of what I'm talking about. Yours was toast when I took apart your exhaust.
