Was my transmission swapped?

Heres the deal..my 86 pickup has a 5 speed manual in it. BUT my gauge cluster doesnt have a factory tach/RPM gauge. Do any of the 80s trucks have an RPM gauge? or just the manuals. Even most autos have it, so im wondering why mine doesnt.

I know for a fact that the factory tach was an option so not all trucks have em(I think it comes with the SR5 package )

also the possibility of a swapped out gauge cluster

The tach was an option for that year. I don't think the tach's became standard until the late model Tacomas.

Alright thanks guys. I should just run the VIN of my truck. It had a motor swap to th ebuick 3.8L before I bought it. SO I wasnt sure if they did the tranny swap aswell. Guess i should look up the original build sheet online.

I used to never think you could get a manual transmission without a tach

You can always swap out the cluster, or buy a small tach.

I've got manual everything, base model in my '91 p/u xcab, 22RE, 5sp, no bells or whistles and it does have a tach. It's the original cluster too...maybe cause it's Canadian eh?

I think it is the Deluxe, and SR5 models that have a tach.

the base models don't
