red rock canyon, jawbone, thanksgiving camping questions..

i'm thinking about doing a thanksgiving camping trip in the red rock canyon/jawbone rd area. i've got a couple of questions perhaps some of you can help me with:

1. what are the average high and low temps in that area at this time of year?

2. is there a lot of ATV and dirt bike action down there? [i'd like to avoid this]. if so, is it in a particular area or everywhere?

3. any recommendations on where to camp? any hot springs down there?

regards, f.

*sigh* this makes me really wish i still lived in the Mojave desert. Red Rock and Jawbone canyon are two of the sweetest wheeling spots in the country. Only reason why you don't hear of them much is because of there remote location.
Both have a lot of dirt bike/ATV action but the area is so enormous thats it's unlikely you'll cross paths. You can explore and wheel trails that 2 wheelers don't even consider.

Check out the terrain on Google Earth. I drool at the places that i drove by (in my younger years) hundreds of times. Unfortunately without 4x4, i only got to venture into limited areas.

A trip here is worth anyones time and money. I'm actually surprised i haven't seen any trip reports from this area. It's like a mini Moab that i would consider even better in some ways.
If you go, take tons of pictures!

Oh..the temps in late Nov. can be anyones guess. At night, they can dip anywhere from 50*~ to low as 30*~ but nothing life threatening like we have in Colorado.

thanks for the info rocket. seems the perfect destination as i'm in norcal and we're meeting a couple of friends from san diego..

ozzie - thats a different red rock - the one i'm talking about is just north of mojave, ca - here.

anyone have any recommendations of camping spots? rides will include a stock tacoma, '05 4runner with a 3" lift and a lifted 89 toy pickup - all 4x4.
