my oil pressure sender is still plugged in near the oil filter (good news!), but the cable end that extends about 2-3 inches away from the sender (ends in a white connector) has come unplugged from its connector. I'm having a really hard time getting my hands in there, my question is, when dealing with the sensor connector, are you getting to it from below (on the ground under the 4runner) or from above looking down?

if anyone has a pic or a general location of where the sender cable attaches (and how to get to it) that would be awesome.
If at all possible I really don't want to remove the budbuilt skidplate again. that would break my heart (and my back)

Sorry, but in all likelihood, you'll have to pull your skid plate and go up from underneath. The wiring harness runs under the engine. No easy way to get to it from the top.

Hell, not only is mine not plugged into something somewhere, it's definetely not sportin' a cable.

I would like to know exactly where that thing would route to though. My next research project involves figuring out that question. And how to retrofit an OEM oil cooler on my 88 3VZE, which doesn't have that either.

 

Get a 12 yr old small kid to plug it in for ya , if your like me my big forearms and hands don't get anywhere tight

 

It's a "slide-on" type connector. You should be able to pull the boot off of the sender, attach the connector, and put the boot back on.

IF you had a 22RE, you could remove the "access plate" from the R fenderwell to access the sending unit.

 

If you mean the access plate on the R fenderwell, I would assume you mean passenger side. That won't get you to the oil pressure sending unit on a V6, as it's on the driver's side, just in front of the oil filter.
