LOWERED PRICE - 98 4runner 5speed 4x4

I'm selling my 98 SR5. I'll try to list the details as well as I can and I'll probably update as I miss stuff. Seems to have all options but leather, auto, and e-locker.

Silver, 153k miles. I have owned since 110k.
-3.4L V6 w/ new water pump(duralast), timing belt
(goodyear), tensioner(toyota), accessory belts(duralast). I also cleaned
a lot of the underside while I was waiting for toyota to get the tensioner
in. About 10 lbs at least off the skid plates. At 139k.
-5 speed. Changed all the diff and tranny fluids just after the belts before
going to Colorado.
-4x4
-Tan cloth interior
-Sunroof
-Roof rack
-Factory 6 speaker sound with tape and CD. I added a Sony amp and
Rockford 10" P1.
-TRD air filter.
-Vent visors
-Toyota brush guard
-Towing package
-Also has the cargo area cover, I don't know if that came standard or not.
-Has foglight switch and wiring but no lights. It looks like they were mounted on the brush guard before.
-Front windows tinted.
-Bosch Icon wiper blades. They're awesome and about $60 for a set.
-Brand new tires. 10/12/07 + 2 of the old tires that are ok. 147k
-Toyota VIP 3000 alarm and keyless.

The bad:
-There is a small dent in the rear bumper. I'll get a pic of that tomorrow.
-The windshield has a crack along the bottom. It doesn't interfer with driving
and has passed inspection.
-Hole in floor mat where drivers heal is.

I'm going to throw in the Hayes manual, the hitch, extra hatch shocks, and my big ice scraper.

I'm asking $7,000. I will also trade for up to $3,000 for a small SUV. Has to have 4 wheel drive. Would like another 4runner but as long at it's not a piece of junk I'll consider it or an Explorer or Grand Cherokee I'd be willing to trade more on.

Damages:
The dent in bumper and I didn't notice but the hitch as well. It's been there since the 3rd day we had it and my ex wife backed it into a tree.

Crack in windshield. At 6'1" there is just a little that sticks up past the edge of the hood.

Scratches

I like the rig... but I don't have money for one just yet, and Missouri is pretty far away from California...I'm definitely looking for a nice 3rd gen 4Runner with a 5 speed, and yours is nice. I'll see what I can do as far as $$$ is concerned, then I'll get back to you. Bump for a nice rig.

Well I bought a CJ5 and trailer this weekend.

I'm still not in a super hurry to get rid of the runner but I am wondering why I haven't had a lot more attention and offers. What am I doing wrong? Am I asking too much?

You're not doing anything wrong. I don't know if it's the economy, or what, but nothing seems to be selling. Most people are struggling to pay off their houses. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with this, but the amount of money my dad's business makes depends directly on how many cars another business sells. I'd like to buy your rig, and the price is reasonable, but I just don't have all the money as of now. I'll give ya another bump, just so maybe you can get some more hits. Good luck, and yes, I'm still interested.

I got it detailed and it looks awesome. I'll try to get over where it's parked and get some pics.

I could knock off another 150 if someone didn't want the brush guard. I have a guy here in town that's interested in it.

X-AWDriver is right about 3rd Gen 4Runners dropping in price. I'm in the market for a 5 speed and there are several around me (within 100 miles) with comparable miles and maintenance done but without any damage (bumper, windshield, hitch) and they're listed below $8k but willing to deal to sell. I'm currently looking at a 98 with the same options but no brushguard and nothing needs fixed for $6500, but it's black and I'd prefer white or silver.

Well mine is silver. I also can't afford to sell it for that little. I said or best offer and no one so far has even made one.

It's suprising that people are selling them for that far under the blue book.

Well if you decide to go to that price then I can get cash. LMK but the windshield would have to be fixed. Good luck on your sale and if you can hold out for your price, don't settle unless circumstances dictate.

Yeah. If I was going to have to go that low I would keep the 4runner and sell my two other cars. It's looking like I might do that anyways. We're supposed to have another really bad winter and the 4runner is the best car I own.

But if I keep it I'm going to have to put a locker in...........and so on.
