I need a little help diagnosing

Hey guys I have a 94 22re dlx with 51,000 original miles the truck is mint except that I just had the timing chain done already and it has its little things mostly because i think it wasn't ran very much and you know what sitting does to a vehicle. My problems I need help with are as follows 1. When i have my air on and i'm stopped at a light or stop sign or anywhere i am completely still the idles keeps surging not bad but it will surge on and off when the air is off it does not surge at all what could this be and how do I fix it? 2. When at a complete stop I go to start out and as i'm letting the clutch out I hear a loud whine almost like tires squealing or metal grinding against metal my clutch seems to be fine and after i get out of 1st gear it doesn't do it again until i'm at a stop and i go to start out again. Is this something I should just live with or is there anything this could be I searched the forum and there were many threads on the clutch but nothing seems to be like what i'm experiencing any help would be great thanks

the surging has something to do with the alternator.

The A/C surge may be a simple adjustment to the throttle kicker. The same thing happenes if the base idle is too high. The clutch noise might be the throw out bearing is freezing up from sitting around.

Noise is probably pilot or throw out bearing , may be as previous post said -throwout bearing may be rusty or getting ready to freeze up possibly (replace it if freezing before damage follows) , although I have seen pilot bearing bear the same results .
Surging with A/C on is hard to say other than maybe you need to raise your Compessor run idle adj (I believe it is a pot) , just my opinion but maybe the load is a bit too much for the 4 cyl at the idle setting you have now with the compressor on , I have the 3.0 and it comes up to about 1150-1200 Rpm with compressor running , maybe someone has played with the A/C Idle Adj and it is too low .
