2" lift on a 2002 4Runner
I bought a 02 4Runner last month and am looking for an inexpensive way to lift it about 2". I had a 94 before this and installed the downey rear coils and that was the best thing I could have done to it. I did a lot of reading on this website and it seems this might be a little more difficult than that was. I was hoping to firm up the ride up a little also. Not planning on doing much offroad but will be using it to pull the boat from time to time. The 2 options that I keep comming across is the Performance Products 2" springs and the 99 coils. If I get the 99 coils from a private party how can I tell if they are the tall 99's? I was hoping on keeping the same shocks at this time and replacing them later. Does anyone know of any good shops in the Minneapolis area that can or would do this kind of work?
Thanks

I was going to mention the tundra/ome lift as well. I've had it on for more than a year now and I love it.

I would suggest staying away from the coil spring spacer kits. They're cheaper in the short run, but eventually will make your stock springs sag (personal experience speaking). The Tundra/OME is a great setup, also check out the Sonoran Steel site and the 7.1 kit. There are some options out there, but don't go the spacer route...do it right the first time with a coil spring lift.

What about the Toytec OME 3" Lift? The SS 7.1 looks good but more than I wanted to spend. If I went with the Tundra/ome lift would I go to the dealer and get the Tundra coils and then to the web for the OME? or is it sold as a kit?

As far as the Tundra/OME lift, yes it can be pieced together (as long as you know what to get) or you can buy it from Steve as a kit.

If you are wanting about a 2" lift, I went with a ToyTec lift. See sig for options. I went with a softer ride since I'm not pulling anything in the forseeable future. But you can opt for a stiffer suspension in the rear.
Not sure if the ToyTec options I went with are in your budget but on my 2002 ride I got about 2" of lift.
