22re valve adjustment

Please help! I tried to adjust the valves on my 22re and now it wont start. I have tried a few different settings and checked all vaccuum and ignition lines. Any ideas?

You need fuel, air (the right amount) and spark to start. Check for air leaks in the intake tubing, check for spark at the plugs and you could try the fuel pump test jumper to make sure the fuel pump is running:

Talking Thanx

Apparently it was too late in the evening. Today I checked it again and found a loose wire and it started right up. What exaclty are the right adjustments for the valves? Standard or metric? Thanx alot.

Now for the whole story...

Ok, I got this truck and it had been sitting for 10 years. LOL
After a fuel pump and battery it started right up. I ran very quiet and only had 81K(original). A couple of days into it something happened in the valvetrain and I started getting a whole lot of chatter. I think I'll have that taken care of right quick here. But I also have a tap that I believe is coming from the injectors. How would I go about taking care of that? I know people say they are noisy, but this one was perfectley quiet just the other day. What's goin on?

valve clearances are .008 intake and .012 exhaust but if they make a lot of noise then i just do 7-11 (.007 and .011). its a metric. make sure u double check the clearances after u tighten the lock nut.
