hey my e brake light on my 89 4runner will not go off it is stuck on and my e brake is off...does anyone know what is wrong with it or how to fix it???

 

hows your fluid level?

 

Top off your brake fluid, even it you think there is already "enough".

Then search! You will find this to be a VERY common Toyota issue.

 

mine stays on until i mess with the e brake pull handle, i usually have to push it in farther then it goes when you just realease it. And just twist it left to right until the light turns off when pushing it in that usually does the trick for me

 

1. sometimes the float in the brake reservoir sticks a bit. the fix is to tap it GENTLY with a wrench or hammer handle to vibrate it to the top.

2. often the ebrake handle or switch is the culprit.

 

ya it was the fluid i topped it off and it shut off...i was funning low thanx
