Looks like a nice blade. But beam blade technology is unsurpassed. These things are incredible:

 

I got some inexpensive michelins at wal-mart the other day and they're incredibly good.....especially in FL torrential downpours.

I need something that can sling mud for my runner though.

 

^ same here....been using those Michelins for a couple years. They work pretty good but one thing i've found is they don't seem to last very long. I think i'm going to give those beam blades a try.

 

Now for the truth. How much do they cost for a 2001 Tacoma???? mike

 

Wiper blades are a disposable item. Regular replacement should be the solution. Mine are replaced as necessary - 3 or 4 times per year. My $.02

 

On my 4th gen 4Runner it was way too easy. Two inexpensive OEM inserts from the dealer, yank out the old blades and slide in the new blades. Stock Toyota parts work for me...

 

I thought the ~8 bucks a blade I paid recently was expensive... I'm sure they are great but unless they can resist dry rot in the AZ sun for the lifetime of my vehicle at that price I'll pass Good for some I'm sure

 

Ditto with what GPcollen1 said. I've tried every cheap and expensive blade. The Pacific Northwest "Seattle" puts every blade to the test. I've found that it really doesn't matter what you buy. If you clean them off once in a while with some rubbing alcohol they all last about the same.

 

The PIAA blades rock. I'm on only my second set in 4 years. They come with a thing like an alcohol pad that you wipe the glass down with. With mine it was still beading water like Rain-X six months later. I've abused them in the mud, brush, ect. They also come in a sweet carbon fiber look bling bling

Someone call 911 !!!!! After looking at the price I just had a heart attack! Do you know how many sets of OEM blades I can buy at that price? OEM blades will last me a good two years and that's in RAIN,ICE, SNOW , SLEET, MUD, DUST and anything else WV weather and off road conditions has to offer.
No offense here Jason but that price for wipers is out of my league. Mike

 

For something that actually works and last super long, with built-in Rainx, that you don't have to apply manually every week, I just love them.

do you have to manually clean off bug splatters everyday to use these?

 

Not that everyone has access to Costco but they sell silicone blades for under $20.

 

I have them on my 89', and will get them for my 99' sometime i have some extra money, but they are by far the best blades ever. My 89' usually eats a set of blades every couple months... these are a year old and still going strong... killed the OEM yota's by a long shot!
Def way worth the money, it's not hte terrential downfall that is bad on blades, it's the light mist of rain where half the windshield is still dry is what kills em, and mine keep going strong.
Oh, and windex your windshield, the silicon will make them work even better

 

PIAA may be good but I bought Bosh Excel Blades when I moved to San Diego in 2002 they cost $16 or so. I lived in San Diego for 2 years then 29 Palms for 2 years and AZ for the last year. I just replaced them this weekend, and no this was not the 1st rain of the year. I will be a bosh Excel guy for a while it seems.

 

I stick with bosh.

 

The trico's they sell at advanced also come with the alcohol wiper, & for 8 bucks plus some rain-x your set for a year for under $20. The rain x wipes also work great on the blades to restore them once they start wearing.
