12 flashes from my check engine light
Does anyone know anything about the "Knock Control Sensor" on 85 efi 4runner? I'm getting 12 flashes from my Chek engine light.. The full service manual says, "The knock control sensor is not reached judgement level in succession".. I'm not sure if its a sensor to be replaced or a loose wire.. I just finished the clutch and all kinds of goodies and thought I messed up a wire.. Thx for your help..

The would be referring to the knock sensor or wiring between it and the ECU. KS is located at about the 9:30 position from the oil filter:

Make sure it is firmly in place and the connector is firmly connected and that the signal wire and ground shield are intact and that there is continuity back toe the ECU. If all that checks out, then consider replacing the KS. I got a used one for a spare off of eBay.

thx for the info.. I'm going to check out the wiring first.. I did take off the starter twice while fixing the rear main seal and then the transmission seal.. Ding-Dong that I am maybe I "knocked" something..
