3" revtek lift - cv boot problem

I just installed a 3" lift on my 02 4runner a few weeks ago. I also put on 285/75/16 tires. My inner CV boots have now shredded due to the angle. Not slightly torn, but completely ripped apart. I was told that porsche 930 boots were a good alternative to the stocks. Does anyone have any info/alternatives/suggestions?

Thanks!

You have got to install at least a 1" diff drop, otherwise you will continue to destroy your cvs.

Diff drop, and the porsche boots are a decent investment if you want to... But really once you drop the diff and correct those CV angfles you shouldnt have a problem.

Contact Porshe or check a Porshe forum for the 930 CV's. I ran them on a Baja years ago, they can operate at serious angles...

less than $30 for 4 w/ free shipping

usually when you do that, your diff is going to explode, just depends on the wheeling habits

I have the revtek 3" on my 03 Taco and have not had any problems with the CV's..No diff drop and My angles look pretty minimal..

Is this something I should do to my Taco, the diff drop that is..Is my Taco front end Diff and CV's different than the runners.. ?

You mean ripped like this? 3" revtek lift - cv boot problem-47b7d833b3127cce857be3b55f1a00000026102aztndhk1asz-1-.jpg3" revtek lift - cv boot problem-47b7d833b3127cce857be29a9e9d00000026102aztndhk1asz-1-.jpg

Don't know anything about the Porsche boots but my lift included the the 1" diff drop. First set of CV boots ripped 2 months after the lift was installed. I figured new ones would fair better since the first set were the originals (160k+ miles). Second set ripped 3 months after that. I have since removed the Revtek spacers.
