Need a test rig! Carson city area (Also group buy offer!)

Just got of the phone with Shaffer's Offroad. These guys are located in Carson City, Nevada. They are EXTREMELY interested in making a set of 4runner tube doors for our 3rd gens.

I completely assured him there is such a market for these, the only problem being guidance. People will post up homebrewed tube doors without any further leads which puts everyone at a dead end. I figured this one may get more hits than 4xInnovation's because of the location..

So as I stated in the other thread and this title, anyone in the Carson City area willing to lend their vehicle to these guys to get specs/measurements would be awesome. I will give whoever helps jumpstart this undertaking by lending their rig a $100 discount on their set. I asked for a floor quantity of possible customers and he said 10. Obviously, no final prices can be determined until they actually have them made, but as a reference their 2nd gen doors go for $299 a set. Thanks, and let's make this happen!

Like I said, I'm not in the need for any, but I know a guy who really wants a set of tube doors...on all 4 doors that is.

Let me know how this turns out.

I might be in, but $299 per set sounds somewhat steep, considering 4x4 innovations has the 2nd gen doors for $200 a set. Plus I'd want all 4 doors.

Sorry to go off topic... but I don't see any 2nd Gen 4Runner doors listed on their site, as a set or pair.

They show some for 84-88 vehicles as well as Tacomas. I have a 2nd Gen, and I like to see about getting a set of tube doors for it.

Any link to what I am missing?

Hmmmm.......Tube doors.

This could lighten the body weight a significant amount.....
Could provide better protection from those nasty obstacles....
Air Conditioning would be a moot point with these.....
$100 bucks off for a donor rig......(I'm thinking this should be a free set, but that's just my opinon)
I live in Santa Fe, which is 1079 miles from Carson City, NV; which equates to about 17 hours of driving.....
I have a tube bender in my garage and some tubing on a shelf.....

Unless they are willing to come get my 4Runner and trailer it back to Carson city, and have it back to me by a specific time, it won't be my rig that will be providing the measurements. If they were closer, mabye 1078.5 miles, well then of course!

yeah right......

yeah, I though when you said a set, that meant 2, not 4.

But at $299 for a set of 4, that aint bad at all!

I highly doubt schaffer's is going to sell a set of 4 doors for less than the cost of labor and steel to make them.
