Finally new tires - Toyo Open Country MT's
Finally got new tires for the '00. I have only been trying to decide on what tire and what size for a year now. I had almost talked my self out of the Toyo's b/c they are so stinking heavy but the tire shop had some 37's on floor which was all I needed to see. Mine aren't quite that big though...265/75's for now.
Only have about 30 on road miles on them but so far so good. I can tell there is some extra weight to move around now and there is a little hum on the highway as expected.
Worst part about the whole deal was the tire shop scratched up my freshly painted wheels. Glad I didn't have any plans on Saturday...

I was hoping no one would ask how much $$$...
I paid $840 for the set mounted and balanced not including tax. Yea I know I could have bought tires that cost less. But compared with shipping some of the other tires I was looking at here, Mickey T's MTX's, etc, and having them mounted and balanced there wasn't a big difference in price. I paid less for my first set of 35" MTR's for reference.
Yea I would like to see some mud on them too! I am not sure if I even know how to put it in 4WD though

Just an update here but if my records are right i have over 60,000 miles on the Toyo MT's now. It won't be too much longer, maybe another winter, before they need replacing but I have to say they have lasted a lot longer than I expected. And that is with what most people would classify as an aggressive driving style. I have kept them rotated every 5,000 miles but I have never had them rebalanced since they were new. I didn't get them off road much but if you are looking for a good MT that isn't noisy and can get past the weight issue, this would be a good tire to consider.
