CD Player/Radio and Clock Won't Work...

So I went on a camping trip this past weekend, and it was great except, 2 guys got their cigarette lighter fuses blown when we plugged an adapter (to hook up an electric skillet) to their lighter. I was like, "Mines Japanese , let's try it." This was a dumb idea ...So we hooked it up to mine, and I had two green lights on the adapter...Chad turned on the skillet and one started blinking red, then he turned it off and they went green again. We did this two more times with the same result. Now my CD Player, Radio, and Clock won't work, nor will the lights on the CD Player. I checked for fuses, but I couldn't find one for that area. Anyone know what fuse to check, or what might be the problem? Help!!!!!!!!

Re-check all your fuses, there has to be one for that area. If you can't find any blown fuses, pull the trim and see if anything is melted back behind there.

Does anything else not work? Like dash lights, A/C, heater, etc? Those electric skillets take alot of power so you either blew a fuse somewhere or burned some wiring. Everything worked before you did this right? Did you smell anything burning?

If you checked both fuse panels (inside and engine compartment) and they are all good then its the fusible link right behind the cigarette lighter socket itself.

It looks just like a "L" shaped 12ga wire.

I didnt smell anything, and the AC and all that stuff works. It's just the clock, CD/Radio and those lights don't come on when I turn on lights. The radio presets and all those lights.

x2...I forgot about that! You'll have to pull the trim panel around the radio off to get to it.

look at the wiring to the stereo and check the glass fuses there if you got no radio power thats where you should look

I think you should try to double check the fuse panel thats to the lower left of the steering column ...not sure but I'm guessing its either the dome light or parking light fuse...I don't have my car with me at this time to check but I did run into this problem before

Haha...Thats what I would do....I wouldn't pull every single fuse, but anything that could be in common with the problem.

Thats wierd that your dash lights work, but your CD player doesn't illuminate, I thought they ran off the same circuit.

I would check your owners manual to locate the fuse you blew. If you don't have it, do a Google image search for a fuse diagram. Check fuses labeled dome, and power outlet.
