trail gear dual case install?

I got the old case torn down and started putting everything back together. step 8 in the instruction says to install the provided snap ring to the coupler (it holds the lowspeed gear on the adapter) the snap ring they gave me seems to be about 4 sizes to small. I know it is supposed to be a tight fit but this is crazy. my snap ring pliers won't spread it open far enough to get it over the shaft. anybody got any suggestions?

see if there is one that is the right size in your discard pile.

If not, you are stuck waiting on parts from California.

Double check to see if you have another snap ring "stuck" to something else in the kit.

If you can't find it, I'd just call TG in the morning and I'm sure they will take care of you.

The snapring I got from Marlin was very very very tight as well. I thought my dad and I were going to break his snap ring pliers.
