Keyless remote not wanting to work right

I have been having a fit with my keyless remote to my 2000 4runner for awhile now. It will never unlock.lock the truck from furth than about 10 feet and it still can take hitting the button 7 times to get it to work. I have 2 remotes and they both do the same thing and I just changed the battery thinking that might be the prob but no help.

Do ya?ll have this problem? Any idea on how to fix it? Could I need to re-program the remotes? Any help welcome.

Yeah Im pretty sure its just the ▓▓▓▓ty RS3000 alarm system. I have to be right outside the door for it to work. 5 feet max for me, maybe when the battery is new, I can get 10-20feet.

Old camry did this same thing, no idea the exact alarm system but was toyota.

My T100 has a black widow keyless entry, works from about 50 feet away, inside my house, etc.

A little trick is to hold the remote up under your chin. I dont know why but it does help.

Yes take it to wal-mart and get a new battery..Mine does the sameI have to be within 15' and sometimes right at the truck..And every now and then I can be real far away amd work..My remote starter works from a long ways off and in the house..My wifes corolla will work in the house and across the parking lot..I have changed the battery bought another remote still does it..I guess i just have to live with it..

Well at least it is not just me. I am going to be getting an alarm system soon, i might try to find one that will take over the locks so i can get some range for once. i can be right outside the door and it is still hit and miss.
