THEN AT THE SAME TIME MY TRANNY STARTS SLIPPING THROUGH GEARS. iF THIS IS A TRANNY PROBLEM THAT BE OK DO TO THE FACT ITS COVERED BY A WARRANTY . BUT A LITTLE INSIGHT WOULD BE GREAT WERE I DONT GET TALKED INTO PAYING FOR SOMETHING THAT DOESNT REALLY NEAD TO BE FIXED

woah there buddy.... ALL CAPS means shouting... no need to shout.
first, are you positive your tranny is slipping? do any other instruments flicker (radio, etc)... when this happens?

sorry bout that. was in a hurry as far as electrical my lights ect... work fine .and my tranny is actually more changing up and down gears i wouldnt say slipping also my trip and mileage meter moves faster like im actually doing the speeds my mph is reading

odd.... i would need someone to verify, but I thought the speedometer (miles per hour) and odometer (mileage accrual) are cable operated and the tachometer (rpm's) is electrically driven. if this is true, then i would assume you have actually 2 problems.
if the speedo, odo, and tach are all electrically driven, then i would assume its a ECU problem. I dont know exactly how much the ECU modulates the transmission, but a larger ECU problem could cause all the above problems.
Maybe someone else can chime in and offer thier 2 cents!

Find out which trans you have. is it the A340E or A340H there may be some info on one of my threads that might help you out

If you have an electronic speedo then a bad speed sensor could cause all those problems. The transmissions are electronically controlled, if the speed sensor is off then the trans will be changing gears constantly. That would also cause the rpm to change.

I was wondering about that... my original thought was the processing of the speed sensor signal in the ECU, if faulty, could do the same.... didnt think about the sensor itself (crap in = crap out)... however i would think the ECU would just go into "limp" mode with a faulty sensor, but I may be wrong (wont be the first or the last)

thanks guys i talked to a friend of mine at aamco transmissions and he had also said it most likely would be something with the speed sensor either its bad ,theres a short or just a loose connection couse the tranny is computerized and the sensor is reading the mph rong witch couses the tranny to try and follow .thanks again you guys rock
