I just purchased a 1986 RTE truck that the previous owner had swapped out the auto trans for a 5 speed. He said that he never could get the reverse lights or the cruise control working after the swap. I am sure that for the ligts it is just getting the right wires hooked up again, but the cruise control I know nothing about. Does the auto use the same brain and speed sensor as the manual? There also must be a switch plumbed in series with the brake switch as well. Has anyone done this swap that could point me in the right direction?
