There's a guy who may or may not have 4 ALMOST new BFG AT KOs in the 265/75/16 size I have been searching for. Actually I have been lurking like a damn vulture on CL for a while. Gave him a call and I'm 2nd in line for these, he provided this link. If that's the accurate tire he is selling will the ride be significantly stiff? I recall reading in another post about BFGs that the E load rating will be a stiffer ride than a D, which may be what I really want. The guy says they have only about 200 miles on them, the guy upgraded to larger tires. For $400 I'm tempted but may want to hold out for a D range tire.

Opinions? I have a 2000 4WD SR5 and plan on eventually getting the SS#7 package.

 

E might be overkill, but I don't think it'll be THAT bad. But your definition of comfort and mine might be completely different.

Besides that, I am not too fond of BFG's. My friend loves BFG's, but he constantly gets uneven wear, short treadlife, etc. but he keeps going back to them. (He's a stubborn Jeep owner ). PERSONALLY, I would get Mich/Bridgestone/Nitto over the BFG's.

 

I was thinking of the Grapplers too, but I have never run either before. There definitely seems to be a gap forming between BFG and non-BFG opinions here. I used to run Yokohamas Geolander's on my old truck, those were nice. Thanks for the reply

 

I love my BFG's, neither do I bother discriminating against the Nitto's. I am running the Load Range D A/T and it rides nice everywhere. If you ask me, LR E tires are overkill unless you have a full size truck and intend on towing something, they are also heavier due to the extra ply's in the tire.

 

Good info, I may want to wait for a D Range tire after all. I do believe the truck that these were on was a full size Chevy, they decided to upgrade to mud terrains just after buying these.

 

I too love my bfg's same size as you are getting. I have put about 36k on mind and they still have ok tread.

 

with the 10 ply you loose the severe weather rating, i have 10 plys and they don't ride too stiff, for me at least.

Turns out they were a D rating and were sold to the guy in line in front of me. Too bad, seemed like a good deal to me. Thanks for the opinions. Back to the hunt!
