1st fab project done what do you think

ok so i have done little crap before but this was my first real fab project. A push bar for my 91 4runner and i think i did ok all 3 bars sit level at least heres what i started with
then i built the uprights

at this point i noticed that the passenger side was about 3/4 of a inch lower than the driver side so looking more thourgholy i noticed that there's a heavy peice of angle iron welded on to the frame there. so some spacers and longer bolts and back to fabing.
here i got the first horizontal bar welded in place

one bar left to weld on

and finally it's done i have a push bar welded up and very stout sch80 pipe is a wonderful thing. so now i want to add a brush guard here's my idea

the thick red is the same 2" pipe as the push bar the middle thickness line is 3/4 sch80 pipe and the thin red lines are 1/2 rebar. the orange is the same dimensions just i'm not sure if i should build it or not let me know what you think
Thanks

I need a beer

does it only mount with the flatbar at the bottom?

good job, i'd go with the light guards...let the bumper fend for itself

WoOt! Ryobi!

I'd like to see a gusset of some sort behind the uprights to your flat plate. Something to help the flat plate from bending easily. Might even stiffen it up if you are planning to mount lights to it later on.

If you are really planning on pushing anything with it, it's most likely going to flex back to the bumper. You could prevent this with some thick tabs and bolts through the bumper, using spacers for proper depth.

If you goal is to keep everything away from the bumper, and not drill any holes, perhaps you can attach some thick rubber or urethane bumpers to the back of your push bar to help reduce the flex.

If you add the light guards, you may be able to reinforce the ends by wrapping a bar under the fender back to the frame. You just have so much leverage against that flat plate as it is designed now.

Overall, not a bad job for your first fab project.

take some rebar and go from the top of the pushbar back and down to the top of your bumper. either bolt it down or make some kind of bumper/ foot with rubber or plastic. also, I would make the supports just a little longer as to put some forward tension on the pushbar.
have fun!
