Question So, who has replaced the front universal joint?

Where the front drive shaft connects with the T- case is really loose. The U-joint looks like the cause. Is it difficult? I'v been told it's difficult.

It can be difficult. Some say use a cutting wheel and cut each section out and it's a breeze then. New one goes in much easier than old came out. Make some match marks to keep drive shaft aligned and also note position/side grease fitting on and which direction it's pointed (grease fitting).

I tried to knock mine out and never could get it, cut off the sections and it knocked right out. Makes sense, since you would be knocking one cup out at a time.

there is actually a tool for u joints - its like a big c clamp you use with an impact gun. very cool tool...one of my favs. does ball joints too. cutting and hammering them does get the job done just the same though.
