Bad Radiator symptoms...?

Hi,

I have been through the gamut trying to get my 1986 PU with a 22r to stop running hot. I have adjusted the timing, the valves, changed spark plugs, wires, distribtuor, ajusted the mixture on the carb, changed the fluid out of the radiator, put in a new thermostat and replaced the head gasket and water pump. And yet...despite my efforts, the thing still heats... It runs a consistent 220-230 degrees after about 8-10 minutes of running.

I m now considering the idea that it might be a bad radiator..simply because I have no idea what else could cause the problem...my question is, what are the symptoms and how can I check the thing to see if it is bad without going to a shop?

Thanks for the input...

Jon
