Well I've whored these pics around the net a bit already, but reading some of the other trip reports on this forum made me want to share my weekend fun. Camped down at the dunes for the weekend, and took a ride with a buddy up Medano pass.

Trail is pretty easy - some steep rocky areas near the top, but mostly a typical #3 rated trail. The water crossings were a blast, but pretty deep in some spots (not stock friendly), and the sand is fun to play around in, and pretty rare for a Colorado trail.

It's down south in the San Luis Valley near Alamosa. About 3.5 hours SW from Denver. Springtime is great because of all the snowmelt/water on the river, and not too hot on the dunes.
