Plastic Shavings on top of engine????

I opened my hood today, first time in about a week and found some plastic shavings on top of the engine.

anyone know where it could be from??
i dont see anything that looks damaged...

x2; those are good suggestions! I'd guess accessory belt first...but the fan/shroud thing just might be it!

mice? Out here in the country we have to keep rat poison uder the hood or they wii eat wires and belts off

i went out and checked it again, i know its not the fan shroud as it doesnt have one. previous owners werent good ones at all.

i think it is one ot the belts, they look a little worn

Yeah, I always have bad luck with fans. My runner ate a shroud once, K5 shot a blade threw the hood, honder made the fan come on when the car was off and bit me, dodge cheese grated itself on the rad, and the stang's just fell completely out one day...

Nah, but they've always been out to get me. Remember as a kid I leaned out over my bunk bed and THUNK THUNK THUNK THUNK THUNK THUNK.

But yeah, so now whenever I see some wierd kinda shaving on the engine, my first thought is always WHAT'D MY FAN EAT!?
