1st Annual Chicago Toyota Jamboree @ The Cliffs Insane Terrain ORP July 28-29

1st Annual Chicago Toyota Jamboree

at
The Cliffs Insane Terrain Offroad Park
Marseilles Il
July 28, 29
http://www.thecliffsinsaneterrain.com/

Due to a lack of local Toyota events and a large number of local Toyotas, I am working with the Cliffs to organize this event. There will be all levels of wheeling. Last weekend we had a run and two Land Rover LR3's showed up and they had a blast on the lighter trails. Or you can run the type of carnage happy trails that the cliffs have come to be known for.

This will be open to ALL Toyota 4x4's (mini's, cruisers,fjc's...) But of course anyone who wants to wheel is welcome.

We will meet in the Cliffs parking lot at 8:30 on saturday morning.

There will be raffles for the following (as of now, It will hopefully grow)
-A warn M8000
-Maybe some other small goodies

The Toyota FJCruiser Trail Team may attend (dont know yet)
Adam from 4xinnovations may also attend and show off some of his tube products

CAMPING

Camping at the Cliffs, in the park, $10 per site/rig, no hook up.

There is camping at whispering pines (new owners will be changing name to 4 Star). The campgrounds are directly behind the cliffs.

RATES:

PRIMITIVE: $20/night (reduced from 25)
ELECTRIC HOOK UP: $29/night
FULL HOOK UP (RVS ETC.): $30/night
There is a Shower House

No they dont seem to be.

The wheel base restrictions more early on and beleive me it was for your own sake. when the park first opened it was TIGHT. they cleared the trails with sami's I think. my budies would go in their 116" fzj80's and it wasnt pretty. lots of damage, 10 pt turns, and some places were just impossible. Now its wide open.

You will be able to get in for sure, they would have let you in then even. they just didnt want the typical illinios good ol' boy BS and a bunch of f-150's with 44's bogging out the trails. It was a good rule, but didnt necessarily apply to you.

This seems like an appropriate time to ask...

How capable do you think a 2wd 4Runner is? Will I be able to do any of the trails? If not (which I'm okay with) will anyone have a front seat available?

I'm a newbie with a recently purchased '85 4runner. Stock with 81K! Just sold my '84. Not much wheeling experience. Use to have a '78 bronco till I drove a 4runner and fell in love. How much is it to get in to the cliffs any extra expenses like flags? I'm kinda poor but would love to make the trip.

I'm planning on being there. If anyone wants to offer up a front seat - I'll help with their entry fee/food/gas. I'd prefer someone skilled/modded.

The rates for the park are found here http://www.thecliffsinsaneterrain.com/info.html

Yeah they require flags. They are 7$. If you plan to wheel a bit in the future I sugest buying one (badlands requires one too). If not I MIGHT remember to bring my extras, but dont count on it.

Actually I think they were $11.00 or $12.00 for the flag. We were able to get a discounted rate last time, I would think that may happen again. I believe it was around $17. I am planning on making this outing also. Looks like I might tow the camper down for a nice air conditioned sleep.

I may not have the biggest or baddest rig, but I would imagine you could ride with me. Trying to talk the wife and kids into going, but I don't think thats happening. Wifey saw pic's from the last time at Cliffs and didn't seem to excited to join me.

Yeah I know, $12.00 seemed high to me also. But what was I going to do?

I'll try to be there. It may be my first time wheeling my 86 PU. I can trail lead as I have more hours than I can remember in my XJ at the Cliffs. I could take the newb's or the stockers around #1, #2 and #10 if we get brave and whether it has rained.

One more thing... download their multi-page waiver and pre-fill it out and take it with you. Save yourself a lot of standing around in the trailer. EACH person in the vehicle needs them filled out. A PITA... YES. But you don't fill em out, you don't wheel. Fortunately DNA samples are not yet required!

That would be great if you want to lead a light group. I suspect that may be the bulk of the vehicles. And there will probably more than one light group.
