Pics of Sport Edition w/out running boards?

I want to remove the running boards on my '02 Sport Edition but am not sure how it'll look. Anyone got pics? Also wondering if it would be possible to remove the fender flares and replace 'em with the chrome trim?

Make sure you have some mud flaps ready especially if you have all-terrain tires. I'm in the mountains and all the crap they put on the road to melt the snow will tear the backfender flares and bottom of the doors up.

Rocks maybe, but salt no...at least not in my case. I bought my 02 SE one year ago in NY. It came stock without running boards and this rig endured 4 years of hard winters with the added salt the city used to melt it with. Granted the undercarriage was rusted to hell, but the bottom of the doors and backfender flares looked as good as they did brand new.

yes but here in colorado salt isn't used. the plow crews put down a chemical that melts the snow.

Actually here in CO they use Mag-chloride which they lay down just before the snow starts and it doesn't really work til it's freezing then it halps against ice forming under the snow that will accumulate and then they do a lot of sanding which I'll take over salt anyday. The problem with the sand is pitting of your vehicle including the windshield (which I replace every two years) and then as the season ends the sand now has been ground into dust but CDOT gets the roads pretty cleared up by June.

Salt is still worse and I've seen Runners younger than mine (especially from the east coast) with alot of surface rust on everything under the truck vs mine which is minimal.
