Oil in my Galley?

Oil in my Galley?
So my mechanic working on my 3vze HG calls and says he has some bad news. After dissassembling the top of my engine down below the valve covers he said he found oil in the galley around the knock sensor. He says there shouldn't be any oil there and I probably have a crack inside the block.
He also found coolant all the way up to my air filter and inside the breather hose...and he's not sure how it got there. He thinks the exhaust side block is cracked. Anyways... he suggests I go for a rebuilt longblock if I decide to fix it. Hasn't been a very good couple of days. Can anyone confirm his diagnosis? Appreciate any comments from anyone who has had similiar symptoms. Thanks.
