Paitning chrome grille and bumper black? photoshop help

I was wondering if I did enough sanding the chrome down, cleaned it really good, primered it, then painted it, if the paint would actually stay on and not chip off my chrome grill and bumper? Then I wanted to paint the toyota lettering in the middle of the grille red. I know that there was someone on here who herculined their front bumper and grille black. Does anyone have pictures? If someone could use their photoshop skills to photoshop what it would look like that would also be appreciated.

why not just buy a new non-chrome front bumper piece. aftermarket they are really cheap, and much eaiser to paint. Plus you could sell off the chrome to offset the cost of the new bumper. Paint does not stick well to chrome, no matter what you do to it IMHO

the chrome that is on that grill piece is just a coating, and sands off easily, i plan on doing the same thing shortly...i dunno what im gonna do about my bumper, ill prolly just sand it, clean it with acetone, and then paint it with rust oleum...

The chrome on my 4Runner grille is coming off in chunks, well bit's and pieces anyhow. Then it'll get painted a satin black.

thanks for the help with photo shop. although after seeing what it would look like I think I will just stick with the chrome, it would look better.

Nothing wrong with wrapping your loved one in some chrome. To each their own. I know chrome is not the "in thing." But, I couldn't care less. I grew up droolig over the chrome-clad muscle cars of the 60s and 70s. (My father's mid-life crisis resulted in a 66 Pontiac LeMans convertible...dripping in chrome.) Now that I can afford it, I went with a chrome brushguard. tailight guards and rims. Why? Not becuase it's what everyone else thinks is "in." But, because I think it looks dang sweet. Now, I also have a blacked out Sequoia. And, it's PIMP too. So, I say go with whatever you think looks best. I'm happy to hear a YotaTech member decide that everything doesn't have to be black. Stay stong brother!
