Unhappy 89 3.0 clutch woes

I blew a line @ the slave cylinder. fluid in master was dirty .replaced slave and master .It worked great for a week.Thought I hadfailure . replaced with new master and slave.It will not start when i push in the clutch pedal . will start with clutch cancel swith but will not shift.clutch was replaced in oct. 2006. slave is working. all air is out of the system.

You need to bleed all the air out of the system; requires a buddy or a bleeding kit.

can i let gravity help by opening bleeder and let fluid drip out to get trapped fluid to slave . Then pump pedal with buddy . when air is out will it start without using clutch cancel switch.

Check this FSM for exactly bleeding procedure: http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...fsm/index.html

You need to get a clear hose to fit the bleeder valve, then put it into a cup of fluid. Have your buddy push the pedal to the floor with the valve open. Then close the valve before he lifts the pedal again. then repeat procedure until your fluid is clear & has no air bubbles.

The truck starting has nothing to do with the clutch system. If not for the clutch saftey system, the truck would start in gear given the chance.

You need to be looking at the clutch sensor under the dash. If the pedal is not engaging the sensor, or the sensor is faulty, it will not allow the truck to start.

As for why it wont shift, im at a loss there. There is a rod that can be adjusted that runs between the master and the clutch pedal, so that could be causing both problems.

The other thing you need to check is the clutch pedal bracket assembly. They crack, and will pull away from the firewall when pressed, thus negating clutch force and making it so the truck will not shift, since the clutch is not engaging.

I have bled the air out But It still wont shift. clutch start is working again . could I have messed up shift arm in bell hosing when i mounted the slave on the bell housing
