does anyone know (drips from tail pipe)

I wonder if anyone can help answer a question for me.

After having the gaskets replaced & the heads skimmed on my 3VZ-E (3.0 V6 Petrol) engine, I am still noticing the odd drip of fluid from the exhaust pipe..
Catching a few drips on my finger and then tasting it seems to be mainly water with a hint of petrol. It tastes nothing like engine coolant (antifreeze).

Are drips from the exhaust pipe normal? Is it a by-product of a thirsty petrol engine? Or do I have some other more serious problem?
It is quite a warm day here in the UK.

The engine was a replacement and has now done about 56.0000 miles. It runs great and it is not using any oil or coolant. There is no bubbling in the expansion bottle and it has never over-heated. No oil in the water or water in the oil. I have just done a filter and oil change this morning.

Most Surfs (4-Runners) in the UK are Diesel engines, with very few people owning the 3VZ-E powered truck. I know that many of you over there own these engines so that is the reason for asking you guys.

Thanks in advance.

that is normal, it is just one of the by-products of combustion. Plus very little petrol that isnt burned off

Normal. Unless it's in huge amounts..but typically it goes away when the engine runs for a bit

h2o is a natural byproduct of complete combustion. Also sometimes water can get into the muffler etc. Unless its a large amount, or you're noticing other things then its probably not an issue.

Thanks for that info guys.

Nothing to worry about then!

It is only a few small drips. Every thing else is fine.

Cheers, Paul

It also comes from condensation formed by hot engine exhaust cooling off rapidly through a cooler tail pipe

Don't taste it anymore LOL, just smear it around between your fingers & smell it. If it feels oily or smells strongly of fuel there's a problem. The few drip you're describing sounds like normal condensation.
