Exclamation Help w/ speaker wiring 3rd gen 4runner

Just installed one of two 6 1/2 jbl power p652s' in the driver's side door of my 2000 4Runner. When I tested it out, it sounded good, but comparing it to the factory speaker in the passenger door, it sounded muffled. I have kept the factory tweeters for now, but i am wondering if i connected them to the speaker properly? My jbl's have a crossover, so correct me if i'm wrong, but i wired the tweeter wires to the 2 crossover wires and then connected that to the 2 wires running from my door to my HU?

Appreciate your inputs....

Check to see if there are any adjustable parts inside the crossovers. That should help a bit.
