Well I am now a contributing member, so here's my first pole.
I need some struts/shocks for the Runner. I will be using some Tundra front springs and maybe OME 890 rears...I only want 2" lift because I have 32's. Front shocks will be the Billy HD's. The decision for the rear is between the Billy HD's, 5125 or 5150. I would like to get a little more travel out of the rear if it is practical with a 2" spring.

What I am going to use the shocks for
-Daily driven
-Slow rocky trails & dirt trails
-Occasional washboard roads, the one I hit most often is like 13 miles and rattles me with the stock setup.

Post up why you chose the shock you did please. I have done some searching for these shocks and haven't found anyone running the 5125 or 5150 on 3rd gens...is that because they aren't compatible?

With that said I have the Tundra coils and Tokico Trekmaster (green) shocks and I really do like the ride. I am a little concerned about the lack of droop with the shocks but I guess that is a good thing to keep the CV angles from getting too severe in extreme articulation. But I've only had them on for 2 weeks and only onroad so far but the onroad characterisics are good.

I have read those threads, I am really looking for info on anyone who has run the 5125 or 5150 with a 3rd gen. I found everything else I wanted to know except for the rear setup on the 25's and 50's, I find guys with 1st and 2nd gens running them, but no luck on 3rd gen searches. I think I will run the HD's in the front either way, but I wanted an educated opinion on the 25's and 50's on 3rd gens.

 

My bad - you're asking about rear shocks - I thought it was for the front.

I've got the Y/B HD billies up front with the tundra coils, and the ride is a bit on the stiff side. I don't mind it too much, but you definitely feel the bumps on the road.

On a different note, my CV's did not droop a whole lot, not to the point where grease is leaking or the angle is drastically different.

In the rear I have the OME 890's and tokico trekmaster's, they are smooth!
