help!! inner spindle bushing too large?

im replacing the spindle bushings and i installed the inner bushing and its too small it doesnt fit over the axle shaft.....is this common?. the old bushing fit well and is about .06 of an inch larger (inner diameter micrometer measurement). I tried to heat it up but it just wasnt enough. is this normal for a "tight" fit with the new bushing. does anyone have any ideas. how do i make it fit. any help is greatly appreciated.

*bump*

Just take a deep breath, someone will be along that can answer your question. I have not had mine apart yet so I can't give you accurate info. but, are you sure #1 that it's the correct part & #2 that you installed it correctly?

Did you deform it while you were pounding it in?

yeah its in straight and went in fairly easy. to install i had to throw it in the freezer and it fit right in. the bushing matchs the old one in look and part number. could i just sort of hone it out with a fine grit sand paper alittle at a time.?
