I broke my 1995 4Runner tailgate latch and am trying to put it all back together

Does anyone have a picture of a 2nd gen 4Runner tail gate latch that is fully assembled? closer the pic the better....I have a couple small parts 'left over' and I need to figure out where they all go

A close up pic of the latch with the carpet and cover removed would be perfect but anything is better than what I have now

Just a suggestion, you might have better luck if you post pics of your leftover pieces, and ask for help on where they go.

 

I'll do that when I get home. The part that confuses me the most is a 0.25" round spring like thing. Must have something to do with the latch opening the door because right now the latch doesn't work

I cant figure out where this spring goes...

What doesn't (or didn't) work with the latch? Did the handle move, latch not open, did something pop...

 

The handle will move freely (doesnt do anything) but the lock wont with out manually taking tension off the cable mechinism for the handle...

I have a feeling its really simple. I just need a pic of the properly assembled latch. I'd go to a salvage yard and look around but I cant get any weekend time free for 3 more weeks
