LC Rear Shock Clarification Needed (with Diagram)

So, I have purchased the LC Coils and shocks for the rear of my 97 4Runner and will be installing next weekend. I want to be sure I have all the componenets needed to do this - but I am receiving conflicting reports on what parts I might need to buy to make the LC shocks work. Below on the diagram the parts in GREEN came with the LC shock. The parts in RED are the parts I'm uncertain of. Do these washers (retainers) need to be purchased or will the ones from my current rear Bilsteins work for the LC shocks? Please indicate by letter which components are required to be bought for this to work.

thanks
John

If you already have the LC shocks, Take a bushing and compare it to the retainer and your other shocks. The retainer should hang over a little bit. Not be the exact size. The LC shocks retainer is half dollar sized and the stock OEM 4runner shocks are little bigger than a quarter."Without me busting out a tape". I ran into the problem with there not being enough threads to even start a nut because of the retainers not being the right size. They wont seat properly with the small retainers.

Another member on this forum is also telling me he just used regular washers from lowes and has worked for him. Seem reasonable to me - and inexpensive. Any reason this would NOt be a good idea?

thanks
John

I'll probably be going and buying some washers since Toyota wants a pretty penny for them.

I don't know but they quoted me 12.75 ea. for 95' landcruiser shock retainers. I'm pretty sure you can just go to NAPA and get them. Just make sure they're the bigger ones than whats on the 4runner stock. I'd'll be fine. "Is that even a word"? Computer slang 101

What washers (by letter from above diagram) did you purchase? Why only 2? Seems like there are 3 up top.

UPDATE: I installed my Landcruiser coils and shocks yesterday and for future reference - I purchased some (8) .59 cent washers (4 per side) at the hardware store and used them in position a,b,c, &f in diagram above. It worked fine. Just take the shock into the store and get one that is the same size or a little larger than the bushings and will fit over the top shock bolt. Using washers made it so there was barely any thread to start the nut on but we used a jack to compress the shock some and that gave us enough to get the top nut on and tighten it down.
