Need Fluid Recommendations for 3.4 swap

Looking to hear what you guys have to say on this one. My donor '97 Tacoma engine had been sitting indoors for 2 yrs now (been gathering parts slowly b/c I had to fetch all the parts) and now I am getting close to finishing up the swap. It has 50K miles when I bought it from the seller but now I need to know whether to use synthetic or regular motor oil and what weight should I use.

Also what about the other fluids such as for the differential oils, T-case oil, brake fluid, lubricating the propeller shafts, and all other fluids that I might have forgotten? Would you also go with the synthetics or just regular fluids on these.

Thanks for your time.

What engine oil would you guys go for the initial start-up then drain it after running it for about 5 mins? Would any regular 5W-30 engine oil be okay for that then switch to synthetic afterwards? Thanks.

Thanks for posting this question as I'm in a similar situation. My motor has been sitting for quite some time also and has 60k on it. I was thinking of doing regular motor oil first then change it soon after for synthetic. Another question would be is if there is anything that needs to be done before starting it like turning it over manually to get the parts moving a little.

Cheap, don't waste your money on synthetic for 5 mins of run time. Then go Mobil 1 for the regular drain intervals.

Yeah cheap initial engine oil then Mobil 1 for the regular changes. Just be sure that you use A/T fluid in the transfer case if you have an automatic transmission, don't use gear oil.
